“Azul Wasi ” (The Blue House). This project will provide a stable home, food, education and most importantly vocational training for around 20 children and adolescents ranging from 10 to 18 years of age. The children we take in will be those found to be in high risk situations, for example: those found living or working on the streets and also girls that are found to be working in child prostitution. The project will take the form of a three year cycle, allowing the children and youths to settle in, receive an education and then receive training in a vocational field. This will allow them to maximize their potential and give them an opportunity to compete in the market. The preparation aspect in “Azul Wasi ” is very important to us, there are lots of organizations which help children in need but which do not provide any preparation for them when they reach 18 years of age and enter the world of work. A big focus in the project “La Azul Wasi ” is capacity building; not only will we provide them with vocational training but we will also employ a method known as Microfinance in order to teach them the value of money and also to assist them in starting their own companies when they leave “Azul Wasi ”.
